SOSPOSA Airway Competency Certification

How to Complete This Course

This is a two-component certification — theory online and a full-day practical in person. Both steps are required.

You may be exempt from this entire course if you are a Specialist Anaesthetist, a graduate of any Prof Roelofse sedation programme (UFS, UWC, US, or Moderated MSc), or hold a current ACLS, ATLS, or APLS certification. Email marketing@sosposa.co.za with proof of your qualification if your exemption isn't already on your dashboard.

2. Download and study the SOSPOSA Airway Guidelines v3.8 PDF
3. When ready, click Mark Complete at the bottom of the lesson
4. Take the 55-question theory quiz — pass mark 80% (44 of 55)
5. Email Dr David Wels at DavidW@rca.co.za to book your full-day practical assessment
6. Your dual-signatory certificate and 18 Clinical CPD points are issued once you've passed the practical

Unlimited theory retakes, no penalty. Save and resume anytime.

Your 18 Clinical CPD points count toward your annual HPCSA CPD cycle. Your SOSPOSA Airway Competency Certificate is valid for 4 years from the date of practical sign-off. SOSPOSA submits your CPD points to the HPCSA portal automatically.
