About This Certification
Knowledge assessments test what you know. This certification verifies what you do. Pass the 50-question governance MCQ, then complete and submit the official SOSPOSA Sedation Practice Logbook. Your logbook is reviewed and verified by Dr G Kanellos of the SOSPOSA Executive Committee before your certificate is issued.
You already record every sedation case for billing. The logbook is simply 20 of those cases transferred into our standard template. Most practitioners complete it in about 30 minutes.

Logbook Requirements
The SOSPOSA Sedation Practice Logbook (Template Version 2024.1) must be completed for a minimum of 20 cases across 3 weeks. Each case is documented across seven data categories:
- Date, start time, end time, duration
- Patient ID, age, weight, gender
- ASA classification (I–IV + Emergency)
- Procedure type and location
- Urgency — Elective / Urgent / Emergency
- Operating practitioner
- Level planned vs level achieved
- Minimal / Moderate / Deep / Failed
- Primary and secondary drugs with doses
- Lowest SpO2 recorded
- Complications and interventions
- Recovery time in minutes
- Procedure success
- Unexpected hospital admission
- Follow-up required, case notes
- Monthly summary sheet
- Drug usage summary
- Complications summary
